I’m Bedazzled

Cliff is a big fan of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore and we’ve been looking for this movie forever. It just came out on DVD on Tuesday and since I had it on my netflix queue it actually arrived at our house on the very same day. It was a riot! So many funny lines, I am still cracking up at the “God on the postbox scene” and the Drimble Wedge and the Vegetations was classic as well (enjoy below)

I spotted Eleanor Bron as being the gal in Help! a movie I don’t think I’ve seen since I was 10 years old or so, but it definitely left a lasting impression on me. Also in one of those random coincidences I realized that I knew the theme of this movie from one of my Tony Hatch CDs…not realizing until now that it was written by Moore and Cook!

As I said to Cliff during the opening credits, I was reminded of the time that Wendi and I went to the preview of Pulp Fiction, not knowing what to expect, but I said to her, “If this movie is as good as the opening credits makes me think it will be, then this will be a great movie” and I was correct.

Also saw that it was directed by Stanley Donen, who also made Two for the Road with Auds Hepburn that same year- a film I also enjoyed. I will have to check out his work further, but I wish I didn’t just see that he directed the Lionel Ritchie video Dancing on the Ceiling!
