Accept Your Life and What It Brings, I Hope Tomorrow You’ll Find Better Things!
Happy New Year everyone!
Ain’t you tired of the Talkies? I prefer the Walkies
Sending this out to my pup Rigby, Riggs, Rigglepigs!
I saw you strolling by your solitary,
Am I nosy? very, very.
I’d like to bet a juicy huckleberry,
What you’re after is a pal
We’re both in luck, for introductions are not necessary
Mm-mm-mm, would you like to take walk?
Mm-mm-mm, do you think it’s gonna rain?
Mm-mm-mm, how about a sasparilla?
Gee, the moon is yeller,
Sump’n good’ll come from that.
Mm-mm-mm, have you heard the latest song?
Mm-mm-mm, it’s a very pretty strain.
Mm-mm-mm, don’t you feel a little thrilly?
Gee, it’s getting chilly,
Sump’n good’ll come from that.
When you’re strolling though the wherezis,
You need a whozis
To lean upon;
But when you have no whozis,
To hug and whatzis, gosh darn.
Mm-mm-mm, would you like to take walk?
Mm-mm-mm, do you think it’s gonna rain?
Mm-mm-mm, ain’t you tired of the talkies?
I prefer the walkies,
Sump’n good’ll come from that.
When you’re strolling though the wherezis,
You need a whozis
To lean upon;
But when you have no whozis,
To hug and whatzis, gosh darn.

Anita O’Day – Massachusetts
Not heading home for a while yet, but here’s my theme song!
Anita O’Day sings Massachusetts
MASSACHUSETTS
(Andy Razaf / Luckey Roberts)
When the porter yells Massachusetts
I’ll be there with bells, Massachusetts
Homesick as can be, Massachusetts
Only place for me, Massachusetts
Got a special date
With that New England State
How my heart will knock, Massachusetts
To see Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts
Want to roam around, Massachusetts
In Nantucket town, Massachusetts
I can hardly wait
I hope the train ain’t late
You can’t guess how much it means for me to be there
Childhood friends and childhood scenes for me to see there
`Neath blue skies above, Massachusetts
With the one I love, Massachusetts
Just like Jack and Jill, Massachusetts
We’ll climb Bunker Hill, Massachusetts
Spread the news around
I’m Massachusetts bound
As you walk to Lexington, you think of glory
When those minute men were done, they left a story
Where they speak with ee’s, Massachusetts
Boston if you pleese, Massachusetts
Where they can’t say can’t, Massachusetts
And where Aunt meets Aunt, Massachusetts
Spread the news around
I’m Massachusetts, Massachusetts bound

Xanadu
Not sure what this means for the rest of my day, but I woke up with this song in my head!
Boys watching girls watching boys watching girls
The boys watch the girls
while the girls watch the boys
who watch the girls go by
Eye to eye, they solemnly convene to make the scene
Which is the name of the game,
watch a guy watch a dame on any street in town
Up and down and over and across, romance is boss
Guys talk “girl talk”, it happens everywhere
Eyes watch girls walk with tender lovin’ care
It’s keepin’ track of the fact watching them watching back
That makes the world go ’round
“What’s that sound?” each time you hear a loud collective sigh
They’re making music to watch girls by
Guys talk “girl talk”, it happens everywhere
Eyes watch girls walk with tender lovin’ care
It’s keepin’ track of the fact watching them watching back
That makes the world go ’round
“What’s that sound?” each time you hear a loud collective sigh
They’re making music to watch girls by
The boys watch the girls while the girls watch the boys who watch the girls go by
Eye to eye, they solemnly convene to make the scene
Fan*Betty – Steve Ward
I posted this last December, but having just seen the infrequently performing Steve Ward last night I decided to bump it up- have a listen!

I <3 Gilbert O'Sullivan
I can’t be the only Gilbert O’Sullivan fan left in the world, can I? These songs are absolute GEMS! They very much remind me of being a kid, but damn these are great. Alone Again, Naturally, Claire, Get Down.
You can’t watch it here, but here’s a link to one of his bestest Alone Again, Naturally
This one takes me back for sure:
Mad Men Yourself in Real Life on Mad Men Mondays!
If any of you folks are fans of the show Mad Men, please join me in celebrating my latest invention– Mad Men Mondays!
I watched the first episode of the season last week and when I was getting ready for work Monday morning I decided to pretend that I was going to work at Sterling Cooper for the day and put on one of my vintage dresses and a pair of heels. It was fun to have a reason to pick out a special outfit for Monday, and made going back to work a little easier.
I just picked up a swell dress at Mad Hatters in Adamstown (thanks Mary Deluxe of Deluxville for the tip!) and I can’t wait to wear it this week. At least Mad Men Monday gives me a reason to get a little excited about going back to work for the week. Join me won’t you?
