new modbetty blog- Retro Roadmap
In my ever growing quest to document and share the good vintage and retro places that are still around, I’ve created a new blog to organize them and share with the world.
Not knowing at the beginning which domain I liked better, I bought 2 but they’re both directed to the same blog at the moment:
I’ve only got a few posts up but am going to be adding information as often as possible- I’m also looking for anyone who wants to help out with content, writing etc- let me hear your ideas and suggestions!
I like! Jeff Schaller
Painter Jeff Schaller is a fave of mine, so you can imagine how surprised I was to see one of his paintings being recreated at the mall in Exton last fall (OK so this post is late, sue me). I am proud to say I overcame my fear of being in public and joined in, even going so far as to asking the lady for a good square when I saw she was handing me a boring one.
Here’s what I got:
as you can see it was kind of like paint by numbers- I got a lil carried away at one point, painting past the edges of my square, but I hope no one minded!
Here’s what the real deal looks like:

Here’s what the real one looks like in the context of the entire painting:

This gets my mind to wandering and wondering where the mural we helped to paint ended up?
Mod*Holidays
I just uploaded some photos to Flickr of the holiday decorations around the Hacienda, I can’t get wordpress to use the slideshow that Flickr offers, so instead of wasting valuable time trying to figure that out, click Santa Tiki below to go to the set!

Flickr photos up to date!
Not counting the few snaps I took over the past few days, my flickr page has been updated up to 11/23. I still have some organizing, tagging blah blah blah to do, but if you want to check ‘em out
Oh Boy! My photos go global
Looks like one of my “tossaway” photos on flickr caught the eye of someone and may be featured in an upcoming issue of Travel Sri Lanka magazine. I better toss away some more photos!
Oh boy! Mr Toast’s next book and me
I got an email from Dan “Mr Toast” Goodsell yesterday asking permission to use a couple of my photos in the next Mr Toast book. What a thrill! Will keep you all posted when that comes out- we heart Mr Toast and the gang.
Oh yeah we’re going to a photo show
Oh yeah we’re going to a photo show…MY photo show!

Hello folks!
Just wanted to share some good news- I’ve got two sets of my photo
s hanging in Phoenixville at the moment, which is kind of exciting since I’ve never had my photos in public before – when it rains it pours
Even more exciting is the fact that I’ve just been told that 5 out of the 12 prints have already sold- and the shows just started last Friday- I am thrilled, to say the least!
If you are in the area, please stop by and check ‘em out:

I’ve had some of my photos noticed lately and actually featured in a couple of places. Kinda funny, as two of them were just tossaway shots, but who knows these days!

also one thing that was very cool was to win for my photographic submission to my company’s art show in December. It was the first time I’ve actually entered anything, and the first time I’ve won anything! And oh, yeah, it was first prize

I like! Mr Toast
We just spent a fun few days hanging with our pal Mr. Toast, who was checking out the Mid Atlantic region. Hope we showed him a good time! Here are the photos:
